Reason online recently ran an interesting article comparing two moralists. One from the left and one from the right. The examples were in the form of books, the first by Morgan Spurlock of Super Size Me fame and the second by Ben Shapiro, a self-proclaimed virgin and anti-pornography (this is a broader category [...]
Andrew Sullivan recently linked to a Michael Siegel blog response to one of Sullivan’s own posts in which he wondered aloud how often Hollywood has chosen to recognize the brutilization of women in Islamic countries, an idea that seems right in the liberal wheelhouse. I think Siegel makes some interesting points.
Siegel specifically mentions communism [...]
Oprah is on in the background and apparently she is hosting a sort of Channel One reunion. The episode deals with where hurricane Katrina refugees are today. Lisa Ling; a described Oprah correspondent, past co-host of The View, and currently of MSNBC; and Anderson Cooper; now of CNN; are both presenting stories. [...]

Sen. John Cornyn: “None of your civil liberties matter much [...]
Another nugget for anyone out there who really thinks there is still a conservative political party in existence. The nanny state plans to strengthen our marriages. Apparently the official commitment of couples to one another strengthens our nation, society, and families. Well, unless you want to marry someone of the same sex, [...]
One man proposes his own I.D. No, his I.D. is not a theory.
If you were to redesign things, how would you make design intelligent?
Well, for one thing I would put fewer teeth in our mouths. I would put fewer bones in our face, so that it could drain properly. I would straighten up the [...]
