Stabby the punter

This is sad on numerous levels.

The University of Northern Colorado’s reserve punter was arrested Tuesday, accused of stabbing his rival in his kicking leg.

1991 Twins DVD

Watched the Minnesota Twins Vintage World Series DVD. Well, I’ve just watched the 1991 series so far.

Hard to believe it is possible, but the series was even closer than I remember it being. Wow. I did not remember how close the Twins were to winning in four games. I did not [...]

Baseball and stuff

First let me say I think this Bert Blyleven suspension has gone on long enough. He said a couple F-bombs, it was an accident, he apologized on air for five minutes. I can understanda couple games as a PR cover up, but come on already.

Rosenthal smack down

Ken Rosenthal not-so-subtly digs on Jayson Stark’s analysis of a potential deadline Roger Clemens trade. Stark huffed and puffed about how Clemens deserved to be traded to the Red Sox at the deadline. Paraphrase:

Pat Neshek

Dave Kindred of The Sporting News ran a nice article about the newest Twins pitcher, Pat Neshek, and his unique form of fan communication. Check it.

Thanks in advance!

Castro was batting .231 with one home run and 14 RBI in 50 games with the Twins. He opened the season as the starting shortstop after Jason Bartlett failed to win the job in spring training. [...]

More Twins

Oh, and in case you missed it, Tuesday night’s Santana-Schilling match-up was the game-of-the-year. Possibly the game-of-the-year for the entire league. I wish I was there.

Eating Crow

Apparently Terry Ryan (Twins’ GM) is beginning the long, difficult process of eating crow. It’s nice to see he is recognizing just how much of Mr. Pohlad’s money he threw down the drain this offseason:

It took more than two months, but the Twins have abandoned their offseason remodel of their ailing lineup.

In a move [...]
