Favorite high gas price situation

Here’s my favorite high gas price situation thus far.

A friend is getting married in a few weeks. Her bachelorette party is this weekend along with her “friends” wedding shower. One of her bridesmaids lives over by Mitchell, South Dakota. She hasn’t been to any of the wedding showers. She decided she won’t be coming to the shower and b-party in part because of the gas prices. She was contemplating this decision before the prices jumped due to the hurricane.

Some quick math.

275 miles @ 25 miles/gallon = 11 gallons 22 gallons round trip Old, old gas price = $2.00 Old gas price = $2.50 New gas price = $3 Trip on old, old gas price = $44 Trip on old gas price = $55 Trip on new gas price = $66

Anyway, the old, old price isn’t reasonable. The old price can be the baseline. She decided that she didn’t need to come to Owatonna and celebrate her friend’s upcoming nuptials over $11. $11! She lives in a dual income household with no children.

I would hope there is a different actual reason she is doing this. If so, she needed to come up with a better bogus excuse because this one is L-A-M-E, LAME.
