Jetta TDI value

Thought this was interesting. I just priced the Jetta at edmunds.com. It’s private sale value is $500 more than what we paid for it. That’s rated at “clean” and with the miles we’ve put on it. If I were selling, I would hope I could get more given the additional wheels/tires and the semiannual polishing.

Not that one can really get what one expects when selling an item. Not that I’m trying to sell the Jetta. Just interesting.

Update: CarSoup.com verified my findings. A 2002 Jetta TDI nearly identical to the one we bought, with even a few more miles than when we bought it, is selling for $3000 more than we paid.

That’s cool…I’ve noticed really old diesels going for like $5k in the paper. Apparently everyone loves oil burners now.
