Daily Show edits

Aug 27, 2005 · see comments

Maybe I’ve just woken up to this. You all probably noticed it from day one.

Tonight I watched a couple episodes of The Daily Show. One was with Christopher Hitchens. The other featured Trent Lott. In both episodes there were noticeable edits in the interview. In the Hitchens episodes Stewart even made a comment about how some of the interview would need to be edited.

I’ve never noticed this before. If editing is an isolated incident for The Daily Show, then it seems unlikely that two back-to-back episodes, which I believe these were (curse you DVR), would have been edited.

Has anyone else ever noticed edited interviews?

(Furthermore, why is “edited” spelled “edited” and not “editted?” And “editing” not “editting?”)
