Voting season

I received a voicemail from the Republican party the other day. It was to make sure that I was registered to vote in order to help decide which Republican leader was going to go on past the primaries “to fight and win the war on terror and protect us at home.” Subtlety incarnate.

Unfortunately I couldn’t be properly sickened by the rhetoric residing on my voicemail. Why, you ask? In a heart-warmingly personal touch a real human introduced the message before it played. I’m not sure what her story was. I can only describe what she said. In a halting voice:

Hello, please hold to hear … uh … *phone fumbling* … an important message about voter … … *mumble/cough* … restoration.

Indeed.

Update:

I received the message again. The “human touch” before the pre-recorded message was also, well, pre-recorded. They actually have this call going out all over Southern Minnesota with a bumbling idiot introducing the propoganda.
