I’ve asked a couple times on this blog if anyone could present some actual information about how America’s food and drug industries are poisoning us to keep their economy going. I have yet to see anything. I did run into an old article discounting the relative healthiness of organic foods, however.

I haven’t seen any evidence that organic food is any more nutritious, either. However, one of the women on my Italy trip would get allergic reactions to conventionally produced food, I think because of preservatives, among other things, so would only eat organic. Worked for her, though it may be one of those situations that depends on the person’s specific health.
I don’t about nutritional value, but I think a lot of people eat organic because they don’t want to support the conventional farming practices used in non-organic foods and/or want to support local, non-”big-business” farmers (though you obviously don’t have to be organic to be home-grown).
Personally, I think often times organic fruit and vegetables taste a lot better - I’ve noticed they often seem to have more flavor. I noticed that growing up, too, as my family had several large gardens and ate a lot of our own veggies. The stuff purchased in the store definitely tasted different.
Good point there. I don’t think I really have an organic option where I live (well, there are farmer’s markets here), but it makes sense. I believe we may have a garden this summer, so perhaps I’ll have a similar opinion come August.
