Apparently Terry Ryan (Twins’ GM) is beginning the long, difficult process of eating crow. It’s nice to see he is recognizing just how much of Mr. Pohlad’s money he threw down the drain this offseason:
It took more than two months, but the Twins have abandoned their offseason remodel of their ailing lineup. In a move that was expected to be announced after Tuesday night’s game, shortstop Jason Bartlett is scheduled to join the Twins in time for Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox, and veteran third baseman Tony Batista is expected to be released to make room on the roster.
Here’s hoping, at the very least, that we see a starting line-up with Bartlett at shortstop and Castro at third. There are better options, but that’s the minimum I’d like to see. Bartlett on the bench watching is a mistake in my book.
